Mona's Family and Friends to Take Out Rally for Peace and Justice Today - Request You All to Join

The family and friends of Mona who died on Sunday night have filed an FIR against Dr. Samir Sharma and nurses, alleging negligence on their part.

Mona Sundas, 30, was admitted on Sunday morning to the hospital. She and her newborn baby died the same night. Doctor Samir Sharma, whom Mona's mother-in-law has named in the police complaint, has denied the allegation that he did not treat her.

Bivana Thapa, a relative of the deceased, said, "in order to protest against the negligence criminal which lead to Mona's death, we are organizing a rally for peace and justice in town today (Thursday)... the rally will start from GDNS and conclude in District hospital... we are requesting the authorities to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry... our family has suffered, we do not want anyone else to go through the pain and heartache that we have suffered... hence we request all the people from Darjeeling to kindly participate in the rally today... lets make our collective voices heard."
