Patna-Guwahati Capital Express derails in West Bengal near Siliguri, no casualties reported yet


A train derailed near Samuktala station of West Bengal today. No casualties have been reported from the spot.

While the exact reason for the incident is yet to be ascertained, rescue teams have been rushed to the spot.

Two coaches have been derailed at the station in Alipurduar district. The train was Guwahati bound from Danapur of Bihar.

This is the second incident of train derailment in less than a months time. Over 100 persons were killed and 150 were injured on November 20 when a train derailed in Patna, Uttar Pradesh.
