WELL PLAYED: #UKFC Lost the Finals but Win Millions of Hearts
Writes: Subodh Sharma
Our United Kurseong Football Club boys gave their utmost, but luck played a tyrant and they could not come back as champions.
They lost the final match against Asansol by 1-0.
But such was the love and support for UKFC that even the Ministers of the Bihar Government present there could not hold down their emotions and on their speech made a forecast that "players from UKFC club would one day represent India."
The love and support for UKFC was so profound that when the winner trophy was given there was boos all around the ground.
UKFC players Nigam Singh was declared the goalkeeper of the tournament and Prashant Rai Baichung was declared the man of the series.
Even though they were unable to be champions they won the hearts of millions of fans in Bihar.
UKFC has already been invited to play a tournament in Patna in January...so think how our players played.
Well done lads... keep up the Gorkha spirit and 3Darjeeling flag flying high!!
