LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thai Boy Dies Mysteriously at Cochran Place Hotel, Kurseong - Police Shielding the Owners
One of our readers Ms. Chuthamat Thanasab who is related to the deceased, writes...
"A Thai boy died mysteriously in Cochran Place Hotel, Kurseong. Thai people who were on the scene insist they smelled some gas coming out of his room as they entered, but it seems like the police are ignoring a testimony from them, and assume it was because of food poisoning or overdose instead.
They didn't press any charges against the hotel. Is this the right thing to do?
The hotel owner promised to compromise at first. She said to buy a new coffin and pay for all the costs involving any transportation costs to send his body back to Thailand. But now she is refusing and saying that she never said those things. We should have recorded it, but we didn't think she would do this to us.
She told us that she has the blood test report of other 2 boys, who were also sick when they were in the hotel and rushed to a hospital at the same time as the deceased boy, but now they have been discharged from a hospital. It's a report which their parents don't even know it has been out at that time.
She is sure that the hotel has nothing to do with this problem.
If the report has been out then shouldn't their parents were the one to know first? And how can she has it in her hand? Is it legal for her to have it?
The parents still have no idea what happened to their sons. We haven't gotten any justice.
I'm sure the postmortem examination report of a deceased boy which hasn't been out yet, will not reveal suffocation from gas leakage as the cause of death, but it will be something else indicating the hotel isn't responsible for his death.
It's sad enough to lose a decent human being, but it's even more sad to see the loss of humanity in this world.
Please share this."

Totally a conspiracy decorated by the hotel authority! I was there in the hospital after the body and the two other sick students was brought, I have seen their parents the way they explained the matter wasn't a food poisoning or over dose, but gas leakage! If I was allowed in the court of Indian law I would give my testimony or eyewitness not for my friend but for justice!
