Once can be an outrage, twice or thrice or ten times cane be malice, but in the past one week we have received over 25 complaints about SBI Darjeeling staff misbehaving with their customers. Majority of the complaints speak about how RUDE, SBI Darjeeling staff are, however this takes the cake. Apparently they are not just rude, but they are insensitive as well.

One of our reader writes...

"My mom went to State Bank of India, the day before yesterday she stood in the line for almost 4 hours as each and every one was there to exchange or deposit old notes... she stood for so many hours hoping that she would get to exchange the old notes. Finally her turn came and she saw the bank employee counting cash of Rs 100 note, she had high hopes that she will be able to exchange Rs 4000 in 100 Rs denominations, but the employee said that they will be able to give 5 notes of Rs 100 and the rest, they said, they will give 10 Rs coins worth Rs. 2000.

My mom was shocked to hear that because she saw that they were counting cash of Rs 100 notes, and they lied straight on her face saying they do not have Rs 100 notes, and on top of that they were supposed to exchange 4000 in a day but they exchanged only Rs 2500.

My mom exchanged the money, but she felt very disappointed and dejected at the behaviour of the employees towards her..

She took 2 packets of Rs 10 coin - Rs 1000 change in one packet and Rs 1000 change in other packet and 5 notes of 100.

She was not very sure whether she will be able to use Rs 10 coin, because shopkeepers are not accepting Rs 10 coin. But still she had to take the change because she had no money to buy grocery.

I felt very sad hearing this because this is not fair. I wish I could come to my hometown and help my mom in this situation, but I won't be able to come because I don't get offs as I work in an airline company as a flight attendant, and I do not get time off to come home for exchanging money.

I think whatever is going in my hometown is not proper, I would request you all to kindly look into the matter

Being inundated with numerous complaints against SBI Darjeeling staff, we have tried to reach the Manager, but all our attempts have been in vain.

If you work in Darjeeling SBI, can you please tell your friends/colleagues to be a little bit more courteous.

After all we all are ONE FAMILY.... it could be your Mom too, if you were not working in SBI, Darjeeling branch.
